The Huntsville Simulation Conference 2008 (HSC'08)

Guidelines for Abstracts

The first step in participating in the HSC as a presenter is the submission of a one page abstract, submitted to the SCS Conference Proceedings Management System.

The abstract must contain a title, followed by list of all authors and their organizations (company, government agency, academic institution, etc).  Email addresses and/or phone numbers are recommended for at least the primary author so that anyone interested the topic can make contact.  The title, authors and organizations will be listed in the HSC preliminary program, final program and web site.  Any subsequent changes to this information (such as a change in the authors) should be made by returning to the manuscript submission web site.

Please define any acronyms the first time they are used in the abstract.  This includes references to organizations and departments.  For example: U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development, and Engineering Command (AMRDEC).  The HSC is a multidisciplinary conference where some participants may not be familiar with the jargon in your area of expertise.

Fonts and styles for the abstract are at the author’s discretion.  Recommended font style is Times New Roman.  Recommended font is 12 point, left justified for the body and 14 point, centered, bold for the title.

Please use your one page of information wisely.  Your abstract will also appear in a booklet of abstracts distributed at the conference.  The abstract must fit on one page in order to be used in this booklet.  In essence your abstract becomes an advertisement for your presentation.  A professional looking abstract works in your favor.  Too little or too much information does not work in your favor.

In the absence of a paper, your abstract will also appear in the conference proceedings CD (distributed free at the conference to all registrants) and in the printed conference proceedings (shipped to those who pay extra for this document).

Be sure that you get all appropriate approvals from your organization before submitting your abstract.
