We are seeking outstanding short paper (4 pages) submissions that will be presented in a poster format at the conference. Short papers should present interesting recent results or novel ideas that are not quite ready for a regular full-length paper. Paper submissions are encouraged in all areas of modeling and simulation as mentioned in SpringSim'08 Call for Papers. In particular we are seeking papers in the following areas:

bullet Communications Networks with Special Emphasis on Modeling and Simulation
bullet Numerical Simulation and Optimization as Applied to Business and Industry
bullet Use of modeling and simulation in the area of computer security
bullet Any Aspect of Modeling and Simulation related to the Military
bullet Modeling, Analysis and Simulation of Telecommunication Systems
bullet Web-based Modeling and Simulation
bullet High-performance Computing and Simulation
bullet Network Traffic Modeling and Workload Characterization
bullet Simulation Languages, Tools, and Environments
bullet Simulation of Parallel Systems, Distributed Systems and Databases
bullet Simulation of Clusters, Grids and Wireless System
bullet Simulation of Multimedia Applications and Systems
bullet Modeling and Simulation of Real-Time and Embedded Systems
bullet Simulation Methodology, Theory and Philosophy

Submission Instructions

Prepare a 4-page paper using the Paper Formatting Guidelines for the conference. All final paper submissions are to be made electronically to SCS via the SCS Conference Proceedings Management System. Include complete postal and e-mail addresses, and fax and phone numbers of corresponding author. Papers must be in English. For further instructions, please refer to the Submission Instructions in the SCS Conference Proceedings Management System web site. Submissions will be peer-reviewed to ensure quality. Accepted short papers will be presented in the poster session as well as the poster proceedings.

Key Dates

Short Paper due 29 Oct 2007   Submission deadline extended to Thursday November 29, 2007
Notification 3 Dec 2007   The program committee will review the papers and determine which ones will be accepted.
Camera-ready Paper due 10 Jan 2008   The final version of accepted papers, incorporating changes based on reviewer comments, are due by this date.
