Summary
Optical wavelength-division multiplexed (WDM) network is becoming an interesting technology for the next generation Internet. This paper represents a simulation study for a novel distributed protocol for online provisioning in survivable wavelength- routing WDM networks. Due to the high cost of the optical WDM network infrastructure, simulators are the best choice for predicting and comparing the behavior and the performance of WDM provisioning protocols. In this paper we discuss in detail a novel control and management protocol to set up and tear down connections in distributed environment. Moreover, we describe the implementation of DILCAMSim an Object-Oriented simulator that is used to show the effectiveness of our proposed protocol.
