Summary
We use a simple dumbbell network configuration to evaluate the fairness (using Jain's Fairnes index) of five variations of highspeed TCP (BIC, CUBIC, highspeed, scalable, hamilton) against NewReno at 1 Gb/s and at various RTTs up to 400ms. We perform the evaluation using ns2 and a testbed, both running the same code (from Linux). We compare the results obtained from the simulation and the testbed.
