2008 Spring Simulation Multiconference (SpringSim'08)- Poster Sessions (SCS-Poster sessions 2008)
Ottawa, Canada, April 14 - 17, 2008
Summary
Defence R&D Canada – Atlantic (DRDC Atlantic) has integrated JACK Intelligent Agents with their High Level Architecture (HLA)-based distributed maritime simulation environment, such that JACK can provide the decision making for all computer-controlled entities modelled by the HLA simulation. Early in this integration process, the need for managing multiple concurrent agent goals was identified. This paper discusses how JACK was used to prioritize goals, suspend goals, and drop goals. These capabilities are key to successfully modelling entities that portray realistic behaviours.
