The focus of this special issue is on original research results, visionary
approaches, novel modeling, and simulation approaches to advance the state of the art of designing, reliable, robust, and secure adhoc and wireless sensor networks and applications. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

• Simulation techniques, algorithms and tools for mobile,
adhoc and sensor networks
• Frameworks and formal models to assess the
limits of current simulation tools and approaches and
their applicability to the design and evaluation of
of mobile, adhoc, and sensor networks
• Modeling theories and tools to help effective design,
development and evolution of complex mobile, adhoc, and
sensor networks.
• Theories and tools to explain, predict and control desired and emergent properties of network, transport, and higher -level protocols for emerging network technologies.

Authors of papers which explore modeling and simulation studies focused on problems in this area are invited to participate in the special issue.

The following are firm deadlines and must be observed in order to guarantee a timely review process and, in case of acceptance, the inclusion of a paper in the special issue:

Submission of extended paper: November 30, 2004
Notification of acceptance: January 31, 2005

All manuscripts must be submitted by email to Prof. Helen Karatza
at the following address: karatza@csd.auth.gr
