SimSummit December, 2009 - I/ITSEC 2009

A meeting of the SimSummit Roundtable was held on Thursday, December 3, 2009 in Orlando,  Florida in association with I/ITSEC.  The topical agenda and minutes from the meeting have been posted to the web site (click here)

Please NOTE the opportunity for SimSummit correspondents to nominate candidate ‘activities’ to the “U. S National M&S Enterprise Campaign” that was launched at the Leadership Summit Meeting of the U. S. M&S Congressional Caucus in Virginia Beach on February 1, 2010, and conducted by NTSA (click here for information).  The theme of that meeting was: “Realizing the Promise of House Resolution 487: A Call to Action“.  The objective of that meeting was to: “Commit to Realize H.Res.487, - declaring Modeling and Simulation a “national critical technology” - by establishing, implementing, and initiating a national M&S enterprise campaign to accelerate evolution for M&S discipline, workforce, industry and market”. The (U.S.) National Infrastructure Simulation and Analysis Center

The National Infrastructure Simulation and Analysis Center (NISAC) is a modeling, simulation, and analysis program within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) comprising personnel in the Washington, D.C., area, as well as from Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). Congress mandated that NISAC serve as a “source of national expertise to address critical infrastructure protection” research and analysis. NISAC prepares and shares analyses of critical infrastructure and key resources (CIKR), including their interdependencies, vulnerabilities, consequences, and other complexities, under the direction of the Office of Infrastructure Protection (IP), Infrastructure Analysis and Strategy Division (IASD). To ensure consistency with IP priorities, NISAC initiatives and tasking requests are coordinated through the NISAC program office [...]

Many readers will be aware that a similar SCS publication existed for a short period but ceased publication five years ago”  (from the Message of the Editor-in-Chief of the SCS M&S Magazine).
