Successes of the SCS Publications: Simulation: Transaction of the Society for Modeling & Simulation International and JDMS: Journal of Defense Modeling & Simulation.

SIMULATION, SCS’s flagship publication, has been through a transformation in the last two years and we are now seeing the fruits of this labour. In 2010 we can report successes for the journal in terms of papers acceptance rate, reviewing times, impact factor.

Also for the JDMS, devoted to advancing the practice, science, and art of modeling and simulation as it relates to the military and defense as well as to homeland security,  we can report very important successes.

The Spring Simulation Multiconference 2010, Orlando (FL, USA).

The week of April 11-15, SCS held the latest instantiation of its highly successful Spring Simulation Multi-conference (SpringSim’10), which was co-located SISO’s Spring Simulation Interoperability Workshop at the Florida Hotel in Orlando Florida. The multi-conference, co-sponsored by ACM/SIGSIM, drew over 280 attendees to its nine symposia and accompanying poster session including Agent-Directed Simulation (ADS), Military Modeling and Simulation (MMS), Emerging M&S Applications in Industry and Academia (EAIA), High-Performance Computing (HPC), Communications and Network Simulation (CNS), the Symposium on the Theory of Modeling and Simulation (DEVS), the Annual Simulation Symposium (ANSS), the Symposium on Simulation for Architecture and Urban Design (SSAUD), and the International Conference on Bond Graph Modeling and Simulation (ICBGM) [...]

Call 2009 for joint research program in the field of Energy (Researcher Excellence Grants and Researcher Mobility Grants)

Researcher Excellence Grants (REG) aim to "enlarge the number of organizations with capacities closely relating to metrology” within the EU Member States and FP7 associated countries. A REG provides financial support for an experienced researcher to carry out research activities related to a JRP, in organizations that are not part of the National Metrology Systems (non NMI/DI organizations). This enables the involvement of high quality researchers, opening the JRPs to the best science. The work undertaken by the REG-Researcher must be relevant to the JRP objectives. CAPRICORN Workshop: CIMIC & Operational Planning in Scenario

The 24 may in COE Rome, it will be held the CAPRICORN devoted to develop Innovative Solutions and Decision Support System based on Simulation to support Operational Planning with special attention to CIMIC and PSYOPS and on their impact on population and active actor in Complex Asymmetric Warfare scenarios.

CAPRICORN is an EDA (European Defense Agency) Research & Development Project, in cooperation with Italian and French MoDs, coordinated by Prof. Agostino Bruzzone, Director of Simulation Team, MISS DIPTEM Genoa University involving LSIS Marseille, MAST srl.

The goal of this workshop is the exploitation of CAPRICORN in the National Community; the project and the proposed technologies and approaches will be presented in order to activate a discussion

with subject matter experts on technical and operative issues related to this sector; during the event simulators in use within CAPRICORN on similar scenarios will be presented. For further information please click here
